(I have absolutely no reason to have a website, but here I am).
I am a Geography undergraduate and choral scholar at Homerton College, Cambridge, with a particular interest in physical, human, and social Geography; environmental sustainability; politics; technology; and civil infrastructure.
I am very aware of my social and environmental impact, and have a desire to solve problems. I believe I am a sociable person, always able to apply my determination, curiosity, and sound morals whilst working thoroughly hard.
I am especially interested in and passionate about many areas of Geography. I am primarily concerned with geographies of infrastructure and climate. I try to constantly involve myself in grassroots projects including my own tree planting initiative, county volunteering, chairing UN Association Youth Summits, managing social media for charities, running our local community website, and a little more. I am most proud to date of raising £150,000 worth of DCMS funding - initially at the age of 14 - allowing Openreach to deliver fibre broadband to ~175 homes, whilst also helping Wessex Internet to deliver a further ~300 homes.
After Cambridge, I hope to quickly become involved in the rail and transport sector. I would love to be working at some level of government to improve rail infrastructure delivery, passenger experience, reliability, frequency, speed, decarbonisation, multimodal interfaces, and so on. I have often made suggestions to Network Rail (who I hope don't yet completely dread my emails) and would love to hear from anyone who might have experience in the sector or who might be able to advise on internships or the like. Let's have a chat!
I am also a choral singer and have previously been a member of Sherborne Abbey Choir and the Winchester College Chapel Choir. I am presently a Choral Scholar at Homerton College, Cambridge, where I sing in our Charter Choir. I struggle at the piano, but at least I try.
Drop me a message if you'd like a chat - I'm not sure why anyone would, but the offer stands :)
